Hey guys! I know it’s been a while. I apologize! Between studying for finals and dealing with some personal issues in my life, Lipstick Villain hasn’t been a top priority of mine. However, I haven’t forgotten about my beloved domain! 🙂 I am back in full effect, better than ever … if I do say so myself *Jay Z voice* .. While on my unexpected hiatus, I was able to test out some new products that I received in gratis from my job! One of the products that I received is what I will be reviewing today: DDF’s Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer 🙂
The reason I decided to test this serum out is because it caught my eye due to it claiming it’s ability to reduce pores and wrinkles. Now, I know that I am only 20 years old, but hey, I feel like the earlier you start, the better! 😉 I have large pores due to me having oily skin; bummer. But I was told, it was better to have oily skin than dry skin because that means you’re ‘less prone to wrinkles’ .. whether that’s a myth or not, I’m just not tryna look my age when skin maturity kicks in, feel me? LOL!
I’ve used cosmetic products to reduce the appearance of pores like Bye Bye Pores by IT Cosmetics, as well as the POREfessional & Agent Zero Shine by Benefit Cosmetics. Although I knew those were temporary quick fix solutions, I kind of just stuck to it because I assumed that I’ll be stuck with my large pores forever.
I have a bad habit of starting a skin regime and not being consistent with it. However, I know the reason why I’m not consistent with my skin regimes is because I don’t see results. Nonetheless, it’s a bad habit that I have to break! And that started last month when I started using DDF’s Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer. For those of you who do not know what DDF stands for, it means ‘Doctor’s Dermatologic Formula’. According to their website, the Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer:
Instantly minimizes the look of pores while it exfoliates and hydrates to continually diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Immediate gratification with long-term results for younger, more flawless looking skin.
- Continuous visible wrinkle refinement
- Instant pore appearance reduction
I rarely post ingredients, but if you’re into that type of thing:
Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Triethanolamine, Panthenol, PEG-100 Stearate, Carbomer, C30-45 Alkyl Cetearyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Benzyl Alcohol, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Titanium Dioxide, PPG-15 Stearyl Ether, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Mica, Methicone, Dimethicone,
I used this serum faithfully at night and I also use it as a primer right before I apply my makeup during the day. The consistency of this product is very lightweight and non greasy. When you work it into your skin, it diminishes, leaving you feeling moisturized. I would say I started to see a huge different in the texture of my skin within a week or so. Now, That is RAPID. So rapid that it’s almost scary! Lol. My skin feels like velvet and my pores have shrunk significantly in diameter! As for wrinkles, I will say that my forehead lines are no longer an issue when I move my brows around. Not only did DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer make my pores pretty much non existent, the serum also made my skin incredibly radiant! In addition to it making the texture of my skin much smoother. I no longer have to apply a face balm like the POREfessional in order to achieve that seamless smooth finish when applying makeup, because now, my skin is naturally like so! My main problem area was my nose. The pores around my nose were so huge and it also had a rocky-like texture. Now, my nose is smooth and pore-less. When I first starting using this product I thought it was too good to be true, and that i wouldn’t see much of a difference, but I am so happy that I was wrong! Ladies, and some gents, PUHLEASE give this a try! (I think Sephora gives samples!)
Now, lets talk about the damage, it is retailed to be $85 for 1.7oz at locations such as ULTA, Sephora and the official DDF website. The price is STEEP. However, you can get it cheaper from AskDerm.com for $68 for 1.7oz; click the link to purchase! 😉 Have you tried it? If not, let me know what you use that’s comparable to it! Please let me know what you think!
