Ok. First off, I had no idea Essence had a beauty box where you can receive deluxe samples monthly. Fucking awesome! I especially love the fact that this box was carefully curated by beauty experts for woman of color!
According to their website:
“Curated by our trusted Beauty experts, the ESSENCE BeautyBox will deliver coveted beauty finds to your door each month. You’ll have an opportunity to test some of the latest and most innovative products, as well as our proven favorites.
To honor and support the beauty entrepreneurship in our own community, we strive to feature a product from a Black-owned business in each box.“
Kiss ‘Look so natural’ Lashes – Gosh these are so cute! They mimic my actual lashes. For a more dramatic
Cover Fx Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment – This kept my face at bay all day. I wouldn’t say matte, more like a demi-matte. After all, I did put it on in
Iman Lip Shimmer – Yooooo, This lip gloss was sticky! It’s a beautiful color none the less. I doubt I’ll use it often. I like for my lip glosses to be lightweight, non sticky and a bit more longer lasting.
Miss Jessie’s Coily Custard – I’m familiar with Miss Jessie’s products when I used to do tons of wash-n-go’s. This product did not disappoint. Very curly, and shiny. Didnt leave any residue or white film either like most curl creams do.
Dark & Lovely Soak it Up Oil Cocktail – My scalp literally DRANK this. So that must mean something good, right? Smells divine too 🙂 I’m going to try using this as a hot oil treatment.
Colgate Optic White Toothpaste – My mouth felt super clean! Teeth were visibly more whiter too!
