Oh, how I just love The Body Shop‘s Oil’s of Life line! In my previous review, I tried their Intensely Revitalizing Sleeping Cream, and I immediately fell in love with how supple my skin became. Raise of hands, how many of us neglect our orbital area when it comes to moisturizing our faces? I most certainly do. Simply because I feel your eyes are the easiest things to neglect. It isn’t until we get older that we start realizing small signs of aging (i.e: crows feet, fine lines). I was blessed to receive The Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream Gel to review for you guys 🙂 The Eye Cream Gel is said to be formulated with caffeine, oleic acid and black cumin seed oil to help reduce signs of aging.
If you’re like me. You’re probably wondering…’what the hell is oleic acid?‘ And ‘what does black cumin seed oil do?‘ Upon doing some research, here’s what I found:
“Oleic acid makes oils richer and heavier, so they are extra-occlusive and can seal in moisture really effectively. High-oleic oils include olive oil, safflower oil, almond oil, and avocado oil among many others. These oils are especially suitable for very dry skin, as they can deliver heavier moisture than even your most potent night cream.” – xovain
“Black seed oil has powerful antioxidant properties that will ward off free radicals that damage skin cells by stealing oxygen molecules. This makes the skin cells dull and lifeless, thus forming wrinkles and fine lines. Although some people find it okay to use black seed oil ‘neat’ onto their skin without mixing it in another oil, people with sensitive skin should first mix it with a carrier oil before use.” – beautymunsta
All in all, I would highly recommend the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream Gel. It goes on smooth and I have noticed my concealer doesn’t set in the creases around my eyes. I really like the cooling feeling! It has to be my favorite part of using this eye cream-gel. As far as consistency, it isn’t greasy but a little goes a long way. If you put too much, it will make little clumpy balls when you rub your eyes. Use sparingly! It has an iridescence to it, and I can see that is to give the appearance of brighter eyes. So far so good! This is staying in my makeup bag 😉
