As women, we’re faced with obstacles everyday. It is up to us to stand tall and overcome those obstacles by persevering. By doing this, we must remain focused, aggressive and positive! It’s so easy to give up, but it’s even more rewarding when all of that hard work pays off! Covergirl knows that #GirlsCan follow their dreams and achieve their life goals by turning any can’t into a can.

Cover Girl was the first brand I used when I first started wearing makeup as a teenager, long before becoming a Makeup Artist. I still use Cover Girl products in my kit today! The first time I ever purchased a Covergirl product was after I seen Saleisha Stowers, ANTM Cycle 9 winner’s commercial and photo shoot for their Wet Slicks Fruit Spritzers! (talk about flashback!).

Covergirl is one of my drugstore favorites, for sure! Which is why I’m excited to tell you guys all about their #Girlscan campaign! This November, COVERGIRL is donating $50,000 to Dress for Success®, an international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.  For a limited time, look for specially marked packs of COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara and Pro Mascara on the #GirlsCan display at your local Wal-Mart.

I’ve had many can’t moments! My most recent was last year around this time in November! I was afraid to seize an opportunity. I had little to no experience, but I was very passionate about what I wanted. In my mind, I doubted myself because I assumed that I didn’t have it all together by not having the proper credentials. However, I knew that I had talent, and soon realized that the only one holding me back, was myself. Last year, I was working at Bloomingdale’s as a sales professional. This year, I run and operate a beauty blog, I’m in school studying Business, and I am also a Prestige Beauty Adviser! I let the fact that I was self taught hold me back from taking myself seriously as a makeup artist. But now? No one can tell me nothing. I’m no longer afraid to fail. Mentally, I’ve matured and I am a lot more hungrier for success than I ever was. I now feel like I can.

COVERGIRL #GirlsCan mascaras come in two varieties at Wal-Mart: COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara and COVERGIRL Professional All-in-One Mascara. I received the Flamed Out Mascara!

#GirlsCan Flamed Out Mascara Review:

See the #Girlscan hashtag? 😉

I’m a sucker for cute, colorful and fun packaging!

This mascara promises to provide exceptional volume!

cg5

Perfect size for on-the-go!

cg6

The brush is in the shape of an hourglass, to provide for volume and length.

Overall, I like this mascara, it volumizes and lengthens a great deal! I have very fine normal length lashes, and I can see a difference when I layer the coats. No clumping at all! Definitely an essential in the makeup bag.
