Hey Loves! It’s been a while since I’ve last reviewed something. I truly apologize, life is gradually taking over. However, I’m super excited today! Studio Gear Cosmetics sent me their True Collection Lipsticks (just in time for Fall) to review for you all.
According to Studio Gear’s website, the True Collection Lipsticks have an Ultra Matte, velvety soft, pigment-rich colors that wear long and stay true. Six statement shades are perfectly balanced to flatter all skin tones. Luxe matte formula stays put, and feels pillowy soft . Minimal color transfer or need to reapply for totally confident wear.
The collection contains 6 different shades of lipsticks: Red, Mauve, Pink, Plum, Nude and Magenta. All appropriate colors for the upcoming Fall season 🙂
I like the simplistic packaging.
Studio Gear True Collection Lipstick Swatches
Here are the swatches of the Studio Gear Lipsticks from the True Collection!
Nude: This nude was slightly peachy, yet warm just enough to suit most skin tones. If you’re a brown girl like myself, you will definitely need a lip liner before application.
Magenta: I felt like this color was very similar to the Red lipstick. They favor each other a lot, however unlike the Red lipstick, Magenta has a hot pink undertone.
Muave: I always found Muave to be a unique color. It’s optional if a liner is needed with this color. However, it’s a nice natural every day color for the fall. Think about those simple makeup days.
Plum: This is such a sexy color. Plum is one of my favorites from the True Collection. It’s definitely a rich deep berry. Perfect go-to lipstick for the fall.
Red: This color reminds me of Christmas. This is classic red. Looks great with or without a liner.
While applying the lipstick, I noticed that the consistency was slightly creamy yet firm. I felt in control when applying it versus it being super creamy to the point where I’d over line my lips. I didn’t have to reapply to get the true essence of the color out. That’s always nice.
In terms of longevity, it lasted me ALL day until I was ready to remove it when I reached home. I loved the fact that it did not dry out my lips. Most matte lipsticks tend to dry out my lips so bad to the point where I have to put Vaseline to moisten my lips and remove everything. I’m almost certain it’s due to the chemicals in them. However, with Studio Gear’s True Collection, I had no problem removing the lipsticks off. A simple makeup will do!
They’re totally worth looking into. I’m obsessed!
